The Adult Performance Program - (Starting Point)

Welcome to the Adult Performance Program,  as a new student at our gym this is where you begin.  The classes for our beginners are designed in such a way that they are fairly easy to do with with a lot of basics in mind to build a strong foundation and also to acclimatize you to the rest of your training with us. Fitness in the initial stages play a huge part, especially for those of you that have not done any form of fitness for a long time. Cardio training takes priority in this phase.

Covered in the beginners classes are the basics from your fighting stance, proper movement and footwork, basic boxing, power kicking and blocking or defense as we call it. We also coach you in the basics of closing the gap between yourself and an opponent should you need to get close to do elbow and knee strikes.

We also cover basic submissions from the clinch position and how to take somebody to the floor and how to finish it on the ground.
Basic ground fighting (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) is also taught, should you end up on the ground that you know how to strike effectively and how to execute  submissions, maintaining a decent position at the bottom and how to escape should you find yourself in a bad place on the ground.

As you can see we cover everything from standing, to someone grabbing on to you or when you are on the ground.

Not only will you notice that your fitness and conditioning will improve but your whole body will feel a change, from shaking a few pounds to learning basic Self-Defense to the improvement of confidence and self esteem.

There is little to no sparring in the first couple of  weeks and even when you move up in classes and ranks it is up to you, if you would like to do any sparring. All sparring is done with safety in mind as we would not like to see you the student get hurt and miss out on valuable training. However we do recommend trying the sparring due to the fact that if it's controlled and done in a controlled environment it is huge amounts of fun.

All drills we do simulate a real sparring environment to give you the best possible "feel" for what it would feel like if you had to do it for real.

When you start your training with us, you will get a progress sheet that will be updated after every class. After every 4 months you will then be invited evaluate to the next level in the gym.
It is important to set yourself short and long term goals and strive to achieve them and in this manner you get to track your progress and grow within the gym.

Senior Classes - Senior classes is our classes for teens in high school. We focus on keeping the classes alive and maintaining an upbeat vibe for teens to be able to better handle and express their emotions. We try to teach the kids how to handle peer pressure and in that vital skills for the world out there that they face. For teenage girls it is an amazing class for Self-Defense and how to handle a date rape or rape situation.

Adult Classes - As an adult we understand that the goals and motivation for adults are very different from person to person and we train you as an individual and not as a group of sheep. We also know that adults have families and work and that there are other priorities in life; that is why we offer a fun and functional way to de-stress and to revitalize, and to learn a new set of skills that helps with fitness, health, weight issues, self improvement and Self-Defense.
